Methacrylate acetyl acetyl oxyyl ester (AAEM) at room temperature has 13% of the very lively enol structure of isomer, at room temperature, easily react with amine and hydraazine compounds, by (methyl) acrylate or styrene monomer radical polymerization, and then add diamine or binary hydrazine can obtain room temperature crosslinking system, so AAEM is one of the ideal monomer of room temperature curing acrylic emulsion. AAEM is widely used as a crosslinker, and can be used to synthesize a high solid content of solvent-type acrylic resin, self-crosslinked or room-temperature cross-linked acrylic emulsion, etc
AAEM(Acetoacetoxyethyl Methacrylate) is a methacrylic ester monomer with a reactive methylene group. Provides improved mechanical and solvent resistance against water or organic solvents. Exhibits good weatherability, hydrolytic stability, low water absorption and low viscosity. It crosslinks with primary aliphatic diamines, formaldehyde, isocyanates, metal ions and activated double bonds (Michael-addition), at room temperature. AAEM can be used with acrylates and styrene acrylates in water-borne dispersions for wood, industrial and top coatings.
