AAEM(Acetoacetoxyethyl Methacrylate) is a methacrylic monomer used to formulate high-solids solution acrylic resins and acrylic emulsions for lower VOC emission industrial and architectural coatings. It is mainly used for low VOC solvent based paint resin to reduce its viscosity. It improves the elasticity and toughness of coating, reduce the glass conversion temperature excellent elasticity and corrosion resistance. It can react with common crosslinking agents such as melamine and isocyanate. It films formed at room temperature and were cross-linked like cyanates. The enamine structure could react with aldehydes and hydrazide by The Mikker reaction. The adhesion between the metal layer and the metal layer is enhanced by the interaction between the metal and the metal ion. Humid environment have excellent adhesion ability. It can be used in pesticide intermediates, high solid acrylic resin solution, reaction monomer for photocuring, polymer for cross-adhesives, polymer for cosmetics, pharmaceutical intermediates, self-crosslinking acrylic emulsion, and can replace N-hydroxymethyl acrylamide, diacetone acrylamide, HEMA, etc, and it has better control of reaction time and makes the better product performance.
